Message buddy of mine builds a crazy insane car. ([ www.turboz24.com ])
installs haltech 2 years ago.
works a deal with the united states number one tech (dallas texas, check the infos, halltech is covered out of dallas only, and they don't tech support anyone... but they are for him).

he/they are constantly diddling with it and cannot get the performance that he was promised. even the official haltech guy is perplexed. I've witnessed the car on the drag strip on several occasions, and you can tell, something is holding the car back...

Said buddy will be coming to Saint Louis this weekend for the "J-Body Bash". perhaps there will be some new developments on his haltech. (if anyone wants to come, he'll be drag racing it at gateway park).
One of the problems (from his description), is if you change ONE setting, it effects 10 others. So you have to go diddle those. When you diddle those 10 settings, it effects another 10 or 20. It's a never ending loop.
FWIW; they have never ever tuned on the dyno. They always tune on the street (real world), but they have wideband o2s.

To answer your question; I don't know anything about Autronic. I've just never heard of anyone that could leave the Haltech alone, and have it function like a daily driver car. I also firmly believe that the stock ECU/harness is capable of 600+rwhp easily. If you want a reliable trouble free daily driver, I do not think Haltech is the answer.
